Wal-Mart has just started selling the Everex Green gPC TC2502. With a retail price of only $198, the new PC is designed to cater to the demands of a new generation of computer users and includes popular applications from Google, Mozilla, Skype and OpenOffice.org. It’s also based on the critically acclaimed Ubuntu Linux distribution with the new gOS operating system featuring a simple and intuitive graphical user interface and comes with a lifetime of free updates and revisions.
At the center of this latest ROHS compliant Everex PC lies the energy-efficient 1.5GHz, VIA C7-D processor drawing less than 2W on average (with a maximum of just 20W). And if quiet computing’s what you’re after, the gPC operates at a mere 28dB, and ranks as the quietest Everex desktop computer ever produced. It also includes 512MB of system memory, 80GB hard disk drive and DVD-ROM/CD-RW optical drive.

To top it off, there’s 24/7 toll-free tech support, and while the $198 price tag does not include a monitor, but it does come with a keyboard, mouse and a couple of stereo speakers.
